During a traditional cooking class in Girona, Spain, Chef Xavier Arrey shows his appreciation for the freshest of fish

Here in Australia a number of years ago there was a celebrity fisherman named Rex Hunt who used to have his own fishing show on TV. He used to kiss every single fish that he caught whether or not he kept the fish or threw it back in just like the man in the picture. That’s what this picture reminds me of as well as the fish market in Seattle. I don’t know why but I thought about the fish market first and the fish kissing celebrity second.
Hi Matthew: What a hoot! Guess you gotta have a gimmick these days, and I can think of worse ways to gain notoriety than kissing fish! Our chef certainly made people smile when he did it.

It is almost like the Nefs (Newfoundlander’s of Canada) kissing the cod!
Never heard of that tradition, Anita but definitely sounds like something that would be fun to see!
