  1. One of my favorite travel books is called “Narrow Dog to Carcasonne” by Terry Darlington. The author recounts the adventure of himself and his wife and their whippet dog when they sailed across the English channel to France and then through canals to the south of France. Mr. Darlington is a true poet, a very witty and irreverent one. The book is fun, fascinating and beautifully written. I think you’d really enjoy it.
