Gorgeous photo and so cool!
Thanks Talon!
What a find. It amazes me how much of Rome still survives in pieces despite the ravages of war and time. How many constructions from today will be around in 2,000 years time?
Isn’t that the truth, Mark! We think a 100-year old building should be torn down and replaced with something “modern.” I was just in New Orleans and learned that they tore down Louis Armstrong’s house to put up an ugly concrete municipal building back in the 1960’s, before we had a better preservation consciousness.
Sonho!!
Super photo! I must have missed this, but did you see the Roman ruins? I was amazed. Didn’t go to Barcelona expecting that, and so well preserved.
The old Roman columns were hidden away INSIDE another building. They were uncovered some years ago and the institution that owned the building decded to put them on display. They’re one of very few Roman ruins still left in the city. The only other ones I saw were remnants of the old Roman wall. Did you see others?
