Macedonia Square in Skopje, North Macedonia, is dominated by the “Warrior on a Horse” statue and fountain. Though meant to depict Alexander the Great, the sculpture is not named for him, due to an ongoing dispute with Greece over cultural claims related to the name Macedonia and historical figures that Greeks claim for themselves.
I love this photo! The reflections and colours of the lights just dance off the screen. I wonder if it looks as cool in daylight or if it is one of those places that just has to be seen at night?
It looks great in daylight, too, Jo, but to really be appreciated, it must be seen at night.
