While Galena is a great place to visit year round, this month is considered to be the prime time. The Fall colors are popping and there are many activities like October Fests and Craft Fairs.
To me it seems the American mid-west is more often than not overlooked when it comes to beauty and historical interests, not to mention the people and the food. From say Minnesota to Montana its is all there. There is a lifetime of adventure just waiting for you to show up.
