Brilliant blue sky provides a gorgeous backdrop for frost-coated trees after a severe winter storm in Wilmington, Illinois. The strong winds and frigid temperatures combined to create crystals on the branches that appear to be nearly horizontal.

    • Hi Antonina: Yes, it’s the wind here that is the real problem in winter. I can stand the below zero temps pretty well, but when the wind whips up it’s just brutal. However, on the positive side, it give me photos like this one 🙂
