  1. Barbara–Your photographs are superb. This was one of the last places I visited during my trip to Russia last June. By the time I got to the ballroom, I was beginning to be underwhelmed by all the gilt and intricate carvings in all the buildings I had seen!!! I agree with you about Moscow being a friendlier city. But, both cities have to be visited to be able to compare and contrast. All of your photos bring back many good memories. Thank you.

    • Thank you, Irene! I agree that one must visit both Moscow and St. Petersburg, if only to see the astounding contrast between the two. It seemed so strange to me that St. Petersburg was the much more European city architecture-wise, while Moscow felt much more severe and cold, but Moscow was definitelythe friendlier of the two.
