3 months ago and took a photo of the same church from a different angle: head on. My problem is that I don’t precisely remember if this was Maca, Achoma, or Yanque. Five other internet sources claim it is in Maca, while only 1 claims it is in Achoma. Another problem is that I don’t remember if I passed through Maca, but vaguely remember Achoma. Isn’t that the one (Achoma) where you get a good view of a volcano to the southwest, and where high school girls dance around the fountain of the church (which has only one tower) in the morning to raise funds, and which has a couple of large inside shrines? My best guess is that the photo is of Maca’s church, based on its having 2 towers. I visited Yanque in the afternoon, but don’t remember getting a chance to photo the church. What’s your thought? And yes, I loved it.
Hi Robert: I’m almost 100% sure it was in Maca. I was on a tour and that’s what the guide said, and what the sign said.
This is just beautiful! You are so fortunate to see such beautiful places. Thank you for always sharing……….
Wow, spectacular photo! Looks like something out of a movie!
Awesome photo. love the most simplicity of its architecture, very utilitarian. 🙂
