Hi Jason: I was warned to be careful in Trujillo, but I wandered around at night all alone and never felt the least bit threatened. Of course, I stayed in the city center, and I was only there a few days, so I’m really not qualified to offer an opinion on it as an expat destination. But I can say that I really liked the city and its residents.
