The glass spire of Caldea Spa dominates the skyline of Escaldes-Engordany, neighbor to Andorra’s capital city of Andorra la Vella. With more than 460,000 square feet of space, Caldea is said to be the largest spa in Europe. Completed in 1994, the 262-foot high glass building is also the tallest building in Andorra. The facility is home to two treatment and activity areas. The original Caldea Spa is a family-friendly facility, while the newer INÚU Wellness Center is for adults only. Both areas make use of mineral-rich thermal waters that are abundant in the area. The healing waters, which flow up to the surface at temperatures higher than 158 degrees Fahrenheit, cool as they are routed to the spa’s numerous pools and treatment areas. To read more about my day long visit to Caldea Spa, see this story on my blog.
Love the blue spire! Sounds like an amazing spa and thermal waters.
It was, Linda. But if I went again, I think I’d prefer to be on the family side. Check out my article about my day at the spa, scheduled to publish tomorrow 🙂
