For some reason, I love the incline and rack/cog railways and have ridden a few around the world. It is interesting (but not surprising) that several claim to be the steepest (including a nearby one to me in the Blue Mts). Some faves include HongKong, Valparaiso (Chile) , Naples and Wellington (NZ) and those up the various parts of the Alps in Europe. May even be a topic for a post!!
Hi Mark: Like you, I love these railways and take them whenever I can. I think the one in Lucerne, Switzerland that went to the top of Mount Pilatus also claimed to be the world’s steepest.
