Hi Shirley: The altitude sickness was not a problem for me in Cusco, and on the way to Machu Picchu you are descending, so it is much lower. However if you plan on going to Lake Titicaca, be careful,, as it is very high. I suggest stopping in to a local pharmacy and buying Sorochepill for altitude sickness -worked like a charm.
