In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), shoppers flock around the new Tesla cars on display at Dubai Mall. Several Emiratis made serious inquiries about purchasing one of these revolutionary, all-electric cars. In one instance, a salesman quoted the price – a cool $176,000. According to Tesla, these new models will be available for delivery in mid-2017. Those who had no hope of being able to afford such a luxury vehicle made do with taking photos of themselves leaning on or sitting in the cars.
This is a beautiful car. The UAE is encouraging Electric cars. An interesting article i found on cars women prefer in the UAE. Tesla is one of them.
Good photo and nice looking car. The irony of your photo, Barbara – We buy their oil, they buy an American car that doesn’t use their oil. Gotta love it!
I really hadn’t thought of that, Paul. It is pretty ironic. But I also learned when I was there that UAE is very aware that their oil resources will run out, sooner rather than later, and they are transitioning to other economic models. Maybe this is part of the plan?
Were they offering test drives? 😉
LOL -I have no idea, Anne. There were salespeople present, and that’s how I overheard the price. So I’d be willing to bet that test drives were available for those who were seriously interested.
