People’s Square in Zadar, Croatia is located on a narrow peninsula that protrudes into the Adriatic Sea. The stone building at the center of the photo is the City Hall, and the square itself is one of the city’s most popular gathering places. Zadar is particularly known for its Roman and Venetian ruins. The entire Old Town is a veritable open-air museum of ancient churches and fortifications. It even features an ancient Roman Forum and several Venetian gates in the old city walls.
