I have an anniversary coming up on November 15th. On that date two years ago I wrote my very first post on this blog. Initially, I created Hole In The Donut to allow my friends and family to follow me as I backpacked around the world. For six months I traveled to places I’d always dreamed of visiting and stayed up half of every night downloading photos and writing. By the time I returned home, in addition to being addicted to travel, I was addicted to blogging.
Of course, once I returned to the States my posts began to deal with subjects other than travel; these days I may upload an inspirational video one day and criticize the government the next. But at least half of my posts still deal with my true love – travel – and so I was delighted when I learned recently that the “T-List” has ranked Hole In The Donut as the 157th most popular travel blog according to Read the rest of this entry »
I’m continually expanding my vocabulary. It’s never too late to learn. A couple of years ago I was introduced to the phrase, “my bad,” which apparently is a sorry excuse for an apology when you’ve made a mistake or done something wrong. Today I learned that I am “snarky.” But I am getting ahead of myself.
About ten days ago I was asked to participate in a survey of bloggers being conducted by Technorati, the Internet search engine that tracks blogs and monitors what is happening in the blogosphere. I was honored. The fact that I had been asked to participate must mean they have a high opinion of my blog. The online survey took a long time to complete, but I persevered because of the special distinction of being included in the survey.
