    • I agree completely, Suzanne. Lots more intricate designs and larger structures, but Tulum is unique because of its site.

  2. I have always enjoyed exploring the Mayan ruins – they are so fascinating! I have yet to see the ones at Tulum – but with a view like that, clearly I made a mistake missing them on my last trip to Mexico! Chitzen Itza was amazing, but the view in that shot looks like a great place to spend some time contemplating the Mayans!

    • Hi Anita: The Tulum ruins are different from any others I’ve seen. This site was the port for the Mayas, apparently the only one of its kind. And bring your swimsuit, because after touring, they have a fantastic little public beach at the foot of the cliff, with dressing rooms, etc. The softest, whitest sand I’ve ever seen is in Tulum!
