About Barbara Weibel

Barbara Weibel After years of working 70 hours a week at jobs I detested, I felt like the proverbial "hole in the donut" - solid on the outside, but empty on the inside. Searching for meaning in my life, I abandoned my successful but unsatisfying career and set out on a six-month solo backpacking trip around the world to pursue my true passions of travel, writing, and photography. My blog features stories about the destinations I visit, people I meet, the crazy things...Read more here....

  • Dear Barbara,

What a charming photo. Always good to catch you, when I can. Missed a few – great ones I’m sure.

I’ve got Paris on my mind as well as Provence in June, so you’ve set me dreaming…

Looking for a house in the country for the month of June, or at least two weeks, depending on the price. If you run across anyone who’s interested, please, pass the word along. Info at: http://www.BoomerBroadsAbroad.com – which is going through a redesign, right now. I will be more dedicated to travel, rather than medical tourism. Planning a meet up with a Bunch or Broads from across the country, in the country, in June, and explore from there. Write, if you read me;-) Krystina

Hi Krystina: Thanks for the lovely compliment! Since I don’t have a home of my own anymore, I don’t have any contacts for home rentals, though you might try some of the home exchange services. Happy and safe travels to you!

    Hi Barbara,

This is quite a cool picture. Since I’ve never been to Europe, seeing photos of how different cultures spend their time is fascinating to me. I appreciate all you do through your blog. You have no idea what you share means to those who have never experienced far-away travels. Thank you Barbara for sharing.

Thank you Debi! Your comment means a lot to me. I sometimes wonder if what I do is helping in any way, so when I hear these things, it makes me realize that there is much good in what I do. Have a wonderful day!
