About Barbara Weibel

Barbara Weibel After years of working 70 hours a week at jobs I detested, I felt like the proverbial "hole in the donut" - solid on the outside, but empty on the inside. Searching for meaning in my life, I abandoned my successful but unsatisfying career and set out on a six-month solo backpacking trip around the world to pursue my true passions of travel, writing, and photography. My blog features stories about the destinations I visit, people I meet, the crazy things...Read more here....

  • First of all I would like to say superb blog!
I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself
and clear your thoughts before writing. I’ve had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Thanks!

Hi Electronic Arts: That’s a really tough question.I also struggle with getting my mind settled enough to write and I can be a terrible procrastinator. It does help me to have a very solid lede into the article. Then I ask myself what I want my audience to understand once they have read the article and go from there. Those two things help me to get started more than anything. Hope that helps.
