  1. 3 months ago and took a photo of the same church from a different angle: head on. My problem is that I don’t precisely remember if this was Maca, Achoma, or Yanque. Five other internet sources claim it is in Maca, while only 1 claims it is in Achoma. Another problem is that I don’t remember if I passed through Maca, but vaguely remember Achoma. Isn’t that the one (Achoma) where you get a good view of a volcano to the southwest, and where high school girls dance around the fountain of the church (which has only one tower) in the morning to raise funds, and which has a couple of large inside shrines? My best guess is that the photo is of Maca’s church, based on its having 2 towers. I visited Yanque in the afternoon, but don’t remember getting a chance to photo the church. What’s your thought? And yes, I loved it.

    • Hi Robert: I’m almost 100% sure it was in Maca. I was on a tour and that’s what the guide said, and what the sign said.
