Alternatively, you could sign up for my rss feed (click on the link that says "Subscribe to blog feed" above the twitter bird in the right-hand sidebar), which will let you choose which feed reader you want to use to monitor my site. I believe there are feed readers that have a widget for the desktop that can alert you when there is a new feed item. Hope that helps, and I appreciate your continued interest in my site.
