About Barbara Weibel

Barbara Weibel After years of working 70 hours a week at jobs I detested, I felt like the proverbial "hole in the donut" - solid on the outside, but empty on the inside. Searching for meaning in my life, I abandoned my successful but unsatisfying career and set out on a six-month solo backpacking trip around the world to pursue my true passions of travel, writing, and photography. My blog features stories about the destinations I visit, people I meet, the crazy things...Read more here....

I have arrived in Zurich, Switzerland, following a nine-hour, overnight flight from Tanzania. Today is a day of walking and resting – but in the meantime I have uploaded all the Tanzania and Zanzibar photos to the photo library. If you’d like to take a look, just click on the button labeled “Photo Library” on the upper right-hand side under the green menu bar and then on the appropriate country/area link. Enjoy, and I’ll be back soon with some great photos and commentary on Zurich.

Dear Barbara, I have vistited your site and i found a lot of rich ideals on the ways of life. Once i read you profile it reminded me when we met in Zanzibar in July at the slave market and the church. Just to remind you i was with the group of participants who came from conflict ridden and fairly stable countries of Africa on the training on peace and reconciliation process just to find Tanzania experience peace and stability but also international concerns, as i told you when you handed me your business care, there is alot can be done down here for humankind in all bases, i hope you found time to read my email on the areas i suggested. keep the good work continue

    Dear Barbara,
It has been quite a while and I see you have been busy visiting a huge part of Europe for the last month. I am back in Holland now and I just wanted to thank you for the bexedryl pills that really made me feel so much better the day after I got them from you. We met on a camping site near Lake Manyara where I was staying with my boyfriend and I was having such a cold.. It was really nice to meet you and thank you again for saving my safari trip! Are you still thinking about joining the Obama team when you get back to the States? I love reading you stories about Zanzibar and Tanzania, they are very inspiring and bring back sweet holiday memories… Good luck to you and all the best, Guusje
